Who We Are
SmartWired (smart-wired.com) publishes reviews and guides about smart home, Home Assistant and home networking products. This page explains what information is collected when you visit the site and how it is used.
Information We Collect
SmartWired has no user accounts, comments or contact forms, so we do not ask you for any personal information. The only data collected is described below.
- Analytics (only if you accept). If you click "Accept analytics" in our cookie banner, we load Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) to count visits and see which articles are read. Google Analytics then sets cookies and collects data such as your approximate location, browser, device and the pages you visit. We use this only in aggregate to improve the site. If you reject, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Your choice is remembered in your browser for 12 months. - Hosting and security. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
- Fonts. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers when a page loads.
Affiliate Links and Cookies
Many product links go to Amazon and carry our Amazon Associates tag. If you click one, Amazon may set cookies to record that you came from SmartWired so that we can earn a commission on qualifying purchases. - You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works fully without them.
- You can change your analytics choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

- If you are in the EU, UK or another region with data protection laws, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
